Out of a dirty old window at Aan de Eike

Aan de Eike’s building is in full swing.

Fienie and I popped to Aan de Eike “construction site” last week Thursday and what a beautiful site it was!! Wolf and his team are breaking down walls and putting in windows. There is dust and cement everywhere you look. It is truly changing by the minute and those of you who new it as African Shades will be absolutely astounded by the changes that have already been made.

The big plan is to turn it into a nineteen-bedroom property. Most of the rooms being standard double rooms along with a few family and luxury options.

There will be a lovely outside recreational area with swimming pool and deck. There is also going to be an outside and inside braai area especially for our local South African guests – because “Local is Lekker” and we want you to feel like this is your home away from home.

The restaurant is also coming along nicely with indoor and outdoor seating area, so that guests can enjoy the vibe all year round. There are still many debates on the exact layout of everything, but this will all fall into place the further along we go with the building.

The gardens are going to be spectacular when we are done, and we are very exited about the little oasis that Aan de Eike is going to become.
Please keep an eye out on our website for special updates and the progress report.
