Dutch Reformed Church

A historic building with a mixture of styles. With its Cape Dutch in architectural style, eclectic facade, gothic windows and borrowed steep, this building won’t seize to amaze. The church can now seat 900 people at the bottom and 500 people in the gallery.

Historic Walk

Swellendam is rich in history. We have compiled a history walk guide that takes you around the national monuments, museum and historic attractions in town. For more information on the historic walk ask one of the lovely reception staff members or have a look at the guide in your room.

Drostdy Museum

The Drosdty is one of the oldest buildings in South Africa and a great experience for young and old. A visit to the Drostdy would not be complete without a visit to the Gaol, Ambagswerf, Mayville house and Mayville Garden all located in the same area. Be sure not to miss our beautiful church.
